Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 Arrive Buenos Aires, Argentina
Welcome to Buenos Aires, where you’ll enjoy an overnight hotel stay. Often dubbed the ‘Paris of South America’, the city blends European elegance with vibrant Latin flair. Grand Belle Époque architecture, leafy boulevards and pavement cafés sit alongside a deep-rooted passion for football, flame-grilled asado, and the tango.
Perhaps take some time to explore the highlights, La Boca, known for its brightly painted buildings and dynamic arts scene, or wander through San Telmo, a once-aristocratic district transformed into a bohemian enclave. Its cobbled streets are now home to antique shops, boutique hotels, and intimate tango clubs that echo the city's rich cultural history.
Day 2 Fly Ushuaia, depart for Antarctica
Fly from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world and the gateway to Tierra del Fuego. On arrival, board your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht, where the Captain and crew will welcome you warmly.
As you depart South America, toast the beginning of your extraordinary voyage while cruising the tranquil waters of the Beagle Channel—named after HMS Beagle, the ship that carried Charles Darwin. Enjoy sweeping views of the snow-capped Andes from your private verandah or the Observation Deck overlooking the ships bow.
Days 3 - 4 At Sea – Crossing the Drake Passage
Ease into the day at your own pace as the ship crosses the legendary Drake Passage, the vast stretch of ocean that links South America to Antarctica. Enjoy breakfast in the privacy of your suite, served by your butler, or join fellow guests at the Yacht Club.
In the state-of-the-art theatre, the Discovery Team will host an introductory presentation outlining the days ahead. Learn how Zodiac landings and other guided excursions will unfold, building anticipation for your first steps on the White Continent. The theatre also hosts expert-led talks, documentaries, and lectures by day, and transforms in the evening with musical performances, cabaret, live shows and interactive entertainment.
On Day 4, enter the Antarctic waters, an ever-changing realm of stark beauty and unexpected encounters. Don your complimentary polar parka and step onto the Observation Deck to witness your first iceberg sighting, a moment that’s sure to stay with you.
Keep an eye out for whale spouts on the horizon. Your Discovery Team—comprising up to 20 experts including marine biologists, glaciologists, historians and ornithologists—will be on hand to share insights and answer your questions as your Antarctic adventure begins.
Day 5 - 10 Antarctic Peninsula
Over the course of your Antarctic expedition, each day brings new opportunities shaped by the ever-changing conditions of this remote region. Wake each morning to breathtaking views of sculpted icebergs, soaring glacial peaks, and abundant birdlife including albatrosses and petrels. Excursions are determined daily by your expert Captain and Discovery Team, making the most of extended daylight hours. Potential landing sites include Portal Point, a historic British refuge hut, and Deception Island, a volcanic caldera accessible by sea, home to scientific stations and vast penguin colonies. Explore this extraordinary environment by Zodiac, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard—getting up close to Adélie, Gentoo, and Chinstrap penguins, and watching for whales such as humpbacks, minkes, and orcas. Highlights may include a passage through the spectacular Lemaire Channel, known for its narrow, photogenic beauty, surrounded by towering ice formations. For the adventurous, the polar plunge offers an exhilarating dip into Antarctic waters, while quieter moments can be spent enjoying specialty teas in the Observation Lounge or stargazing from the deck under the polar twilight.
Days 11 - 12 At Sea – Crossing the Drake Passage
As you sail back across the Drake Passage towards South America, enjoy two days of relaxation and indulgence aboard your ultra-luxury Discovery Yacht. Begin your mornings with fresh juice or barista-made coffee delivered by your butler, followed by a gym session, Pilates, or aerial yoga. Take time to visit the open bridge, where you can observe the yacht’s advanced operations and enjoy panoramic views. Treat yourself to a rejuvenating spa experience, from ESPA facials to Ayurvedic massage, and unwind in the peaceful Vitality Lounge. Evenings are best spent in the Scenic Lounge Bar, sampling top-shelf spirits, premium wines, or French champagne as you reflect on your unforgettable Antarctic journey.
Day 13 Disembark in Ushuaia, Fly Buenos Aires
Your adventure nears its in end, disembark in Ushuaia and transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires.
