Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Helsinki

Your Arctic adventure begins in Helsinki, a city renowned for its architecture and intriguing blend of eastern and western influences. Arrive early to explore the many museums, galleries, and restaurants. Unwind at a Finnish sauna or meander through the vibrant Design District before retiring to your included hotel for the night.

Day 2 Fly Longyearbyen, Svalbard and Embark

After breakfast, transfer to the airport and board the private charter flight to Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen’s largest settlement. As you embark this afternoon, take in the stunning views of the mountainous landscape that frames this charming seaside town.

Day 3 - 6 Exploring Spitsbergen, Svalbard

Exploring Spitsbergen, the largest island of the Norwegian Svalbard archipelago, rewards with austere beauty and abundant wildlife. Visit spectacular glacier fronts and tundra in full bloom, with walrus, polar bears, and Svalbard reindeer among the possible wildlife sightings. Bird enthusiasts will be captivated by sightings of Arctic terns, skuas, Brünnich’s guillemots, black-legged kittiwakes, and ivory gulls. If conditions allow, we may sail within 10 degrees of the North Pole!

Days 7 - 8 At Sea

Sailing south through the Greenland Sea, the Expedition Team will enlighten you about the wildlife and history of Greenland, your next destination. On deck, learn to identify seabirds in flight. Attend presentations, share your photos, sip an icy cocktail in the bar, or watch a film—there are numerous ways to enrich your time at sea.

Days 9 - 12 Exploring East Greenland

During the adventure along Greenland’s remote eastern coast, enjoy Zodiac cruises and shore visits to several breathtaking locations. Explore the remains of ancient Thule settlements and watch for grazing muskoxen—40 percent of the world’s muskoxen population resides here. Sail through the spectacular Scoresbysund, the birthplace of many icebergs and often hailed as the most beautiful fjord system in the world. If conditions allow, you may also visit Ittoqqortoormiit, the most remote community in East Greenland.

Days 13 - 14 Depart Reykjavik

Disembark in Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, at the end of your journey.
